This is the first walk to the pond I videotaped since I inherited the woods last year.

I encounter big thorny bushes, small thorny bushes, Poison Ivy, and mosquitos.

But this does give a good sense of what the forest looked like before I did anything to it. My sole improvements were building a picnic table and a tool box. Although I had tried spraying some weeds with Roundup, I really couldn’t find any evidence of that effort.

We’ll walk to the pond again after there have been some improvements.
