The material covered in this lesson is not only vital to you as a medical specialist but also as a parent, relative, or friend.

A child in good health has a different view of the world than an adult and, therefore, needs to be dealt with differently. The sick or injured child may be coping with fear and pain, causing him to be a difficult patient.

Your patience and understanding of the child will ease his mind, allowing you to treat him and help him on the road to recovery.
