Lazy 8
History is daily being written in the skies by the United States Army Air Forces, and we of Class 44-D wish to participate actively in the victory to be won, and the world peace to be established.
Our responsibilities are constantly growing, but with typical determination and will-to-win, coupled with training and instruction that has no peer, we wish to dedicate this memento of Primary Flight Training at Thunderbird Field Number Two to our instructors, both in flying and ground school.
Unexcelled in ability and knowledge, their task of making the Air Force the World’s best trained and informed flying personnel has not been an easy one. Although there is no glory in their work, and we have scant opportunity to show our appreciation, we of Class 44-D sincerely hope that by our deeds in the future, as pilots in the Army Air Corps, we will uphold the traditions of those who have preceded us. For the gallant efforts of our unsung heroes, CLASS 44-D SALUTES ITS INSTRUCTORS.
