Lunt Hall, Northwestern University

Built in 1894, Lunt Library served the growing needs of the university until 1933 when the newly constructed Deering Library was built. Lunt Library then became Lunt Hall, and was used as an administration building by the university.

From 1942-45, the building served as a barracks and dining hall for sailors in training at the Naval Radio Operators School. It was during this time (1942) that Tom worked in the dining hall during his summer quarter at Northwestern.
