The Alexandria Hotel, at Fifth and Spring Street in Los Angeles, was built in 1906 in the heart of the business district and was viewed as a an elegant place to stay in the city.
After WWII, accompanying the shift in location of the main business district, it fell on harder times and was no longer fashionable. In the 21st century, it has been refurbished and remains in use.
Tom Cartmell stayed at the hotel during a weekend pass on August 28, 1943.
