Bill B. was a friend of Tom’s in Greenville. He was the Vice President of the Greenville High School Class of 1942. Bill is mentioned in several of Tom’s letters.

He died in 2012, and his obituary from the Kokomo Tribune reads (in part):

He was born March 23, 1924, in Greenville, Ill., and lived most of his life in Kokomo.. Bill owned Buchmiller Oil on Morgan Street in Kokomo for many years. He moved to Spring Hill, Fla., in 1989, and to Clearwater, Fla., in 2007.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks..

He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. Buchmiller and Helen (Taylor) Buchmiller; his wives, Margie Britton Buchmiller and Marilyn Buchmiller; and his brother, Bob Buchmiller.
