Boyd McCracken was Tom Cartmell’s friend and classmate at Greenville High School.
After graduating in 1941, he attended DePauw University and then Indiana University School of Medicine, graduating in 1947. He served in the Navy during WWII, and also during the Korean Conflict in 1952.
After his military discharge in 1954, he returned to Greenville to practice family medicine until his retirement in 1991.
Boyd married Julia Cline in 1945. They had two children and many grandchildren.
Dr. McCracken passed away in 2015 at the age of 91.
Boyd’s son, Boyd Arthur, also became a physician and a friend of mine. We knew each other from medical school and my occasional visits to Greenville.
