1. Hello!

   My name is David Le Clair. I came across your website dedicated to your uncle Tom and wanted to let you know what a fabulous resource this is. Your time and dedication to put this together earns my admiration. Through the wonders of DNA, I learned my biological grandfather was an aviation cadet during WW2 as well. My grandmother was a member of WAC during WW2, so you can guess what happened. Anyway, my biological grandfather was at Thunderbird Field for Primary and Luke for Advanced (45E). He went to Marana for Basic. I’ve spent much of the morning reading his letters during primary and my eyes need a break. Anyway, I want to say thank you for all you’ve done to preserve your uncle’s memory.

2. Thank you, David, for your kind words. Your biological grandfather was among the thousands of pilots trained in those places at that time. He would have been about a year behind my Uncle Tom (Class of 44D).
