Folies Bergère is a cabaret and light musical entertainment hall in Paris. Originally established in 1869, it continues and has become a fixture in Parisian life and a center for tourism.
Tom visited Folies Bergère on April 15, 1945, with three of his squadron buddies. He watched the afternoon show, wrote about it in his letter the next day to his wife, and sent her the handbill with some pictures of nudes he purchased following the show. He wrote “I hope you won’t be shocked.”
