Tom logged no flight time in March of 1945. He was still en route to his squadron and didn’t arrive until March 17th. The first P-61 didn’t arrive at the 417th NFS until March 14, and the remainder trickled in through the end of the month. Tom’s first flight with the squadron wasn’t until April 2, and then he flew as copilot in the squadron’s utility B-25C.

There was no AAF Form No. 5 for March, 1945, but I know he didn’t log any hours because his total accumulated flight hours at the end of January exactly matched his total starting flight hours in April of 1945.
