Tetrahydrozoline Ophthalmic (Visine, Murine Plus, Eyesine)

Category:

  • Ophthalmic

Description:

  • Ophthalmic decongestant

Indications:

  • Ocular congestion, irritation, itching

Contraindications:

  • Narrow-angle glaucoma

Precautions:

  • Pregnancy category C

  • Severe hypertension, diabetes,

  • Hyperthyroidism, severe arteriosclerosis, cardiac disease

  • Infants

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

  • EENT: blurred vision, conjunctival allergy, lacrimation, stinging

 

 

Dosage:

Administered ophthalmically

  • Adult:            

    • OPTHT instill 1-2 drops into affected eye up to 4 times daily
