a. Procedure by Surgeon
The peritoneum is exposed; grasped with tissue forceps, and nicked with #3 knife handle with #10 blade. The peritoneum is the thin, membranous lining of the abdominal cavity beneath the posterior fascia and peritoneum and incises them together, using the point of the scalpel blade, make a small incision through both layers of tissue.
