Officer Service Record (NAVPERS 1070/66)

Purpose
The service record is a chronological record of events of an individual during his or her naval service. The service record is the official history of a member's service in the Navy and is the property of the Government and not the member. Service record pages are a vital and permanent part of the record, and entries may not be made except as authorized by the commanding officer.

The Officer Service Record is a valuable collection of information vital to your naval career. Ensuring that the proper personnel maintain and safeguard it should be of concern to each of us. In most commands, the service records are located at and properly maintained by the supporting personnel support detachment or activity (PSD/PSA) or the personnel office in the case of operational or afloat commands.
