The woods had been owned by my Dad, who passed away earlier that year. The land has been in the family for generations, and I didn\u2019t feel like letting it go, although I had no serious vision of what I would do with it. Cartmell, USAAF<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">This site is a memorial tribute to my Uncle Tom, who died during WWII.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">It is a collection of all of his wartime letters (hundreds of them), photographed, transcribed and indexed, so he can tell his own story of this experience.
