The time that I wasn&#8217;t sleeping I was studying for two exams which we had this morning. They weren&#8217;t very tough. Our squadron was the only one that didn&#8217;t have passes last weekend and so Sun. afternoon Sam and I were laying in here sleeping and Jack was reading when in walked two 2nd Lt. \u00a0Jack called attention but you know me when I am asleep. Anyway the Lt. started yelling &#8216;attention&#8217; and finally <a href=\"http:\/\/brooksidepress.org\/cartmell\/people\/sam-ashcroft\/\">Sam<\/a> woke up and about broke his neck coming down off of the top bunk. While this was going on the Lt. was shaking me. Finally I woke up and by the time I knew what was happening on of them was giving Sam and Jack heck for having the room looking like a pig pen, so he said, he should see it sometimes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_226\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-226\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/brooksidepress.org\/cartmell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/April-22-1943-Page-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-226 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/brooksidepress.org\/cartmell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/April-22-1943-Page-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"April 22, 1943 Page 2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" title=\"\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-226\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">April 22, 1943 Page 2<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Anyway he didn&#8217;t say anything to me, he probably figured I was so sleepy I wouldn&#8217;t know what he was talking about anyway. What a life &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>I got a letter from <a href=\"http:\/\/brooksidepress.org\/cartmell\/people\/harold-e-schneider-md\/\">Harold<\/a> yesterday that I am sending you. I wrote him and if you get a chance you might. I put his address up at the top of the page.<\/p>\n<p>I am also sending some pictures that is if they are ready this evening.<\/p>\n<p>That artical on Beloit is just about like what we have but it appeared that they had more freedom. However, on of the boys\/ dads who is a major in the air corps wrote in a letter that this is the toughest C.T.D. \u00a0<span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_224_1('footnote_plugin_reference_224_1_2');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_224_1('footnote_plugin_reference_224_1_2');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_224_1_2\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[2]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_224_1_2\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">College Training Detachment<\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_224_1_2').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_224_1_2', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], });<\/script>in the bunch but the best, so maybe we will get a break later on.<\/p>\n<p>I have just found out that the pictures won&#8217;t be ready till tomorrow. I hope this letter isn&#8217;t to long in &#8216;reaching&#8217; you but you said that it didn&#8217;t take long and I have been getting yours in about 3 days.<\/p>\n<p>The 12-M must mean midnight.
