He is survived by his four children, sons, James, Jr. and wife Pat; Ron and wife Nanci; David; daughter, Karen Cearnal Schmitt and husband Tim; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12.0pt;\">After graduating from Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, MO he attended the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12.0pt;\">University of Illinois<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12.0pt;\"> in the Engineering Dept. World War II interrupted his college education and shortly before his 21st birthday Jim joined the Navy as a Naval Aviator. While stationed in New Orleans, Jim met Mary and they were married on April 9, 1945. They raised their four children in Texas, Kansas and New Jersey as Jim progressed in his career as a successful pharmaceutical executive.
