He performed in Phoenix in November, 1943, for the Thunderbird Army Airfields, for a show attended by Tom Cartmell.<\/p>\n<p>Waring was a complex man, who had studied architectural engineering at Penn State University, before turning his full time attention to music.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1930&#8217;s he assisted inventor Frederick Jacob Osius in the final development, financial support and marketing of a new device, known at the Waring Blendor.<\/p>\n<p>His music was primarily arrangements of popular songs originally written and performed by others, often with some clever additions.
