C-141 Starlifter*

This aircraft is a four-engine jet cargo aircraft. The cabin is pressurized, heated or cooled, as necessary.

The ambulance bus may be positioned at the end of the rear loading ramp for easy enplaning and deplaning of patients.

The C-141 can accomodate 103 litter patients, 147 ambulatory patients, or a combination of both. Maximum capacity is usually not employed as it sacrifices some patient comfort.

The usual medical crew is two flight nurses and three aeromedical evacuation technicians.
