Leg Exercises

When confined to bed, leg exercises are useful in preventing loss of muscle tone or mass, and preventing blood stasis in the legs, one of the factors leading to blood clots.

Raise, then lower the knees, pressing them into the mattress.

Flex, then extend the toes.

Draw circles in the air with the toes.

Lift each leg, one at a time.

Repeat each exercise multiple times.

Repeat the entire set every 1-2 hours while awake.
