CD4+ Lymphocyte Count

CD4 Lymphocytes are T cells (helper cells), produced primarily in the thymus, and play a significant role in cellular immunity.

A drop in CD4 lymphoctes accompanies the transition from an HIV positive state to AIDS.

CD4 Helper cells (relative) 34-67%
CD4 Helper cells (absolute) 493-1191cells/µl
CD4 Helper cells (AIDS Criteria) <200 cells/µl
