Want to help me with this project?

I started the Skills Lab so that students of introductory obstetrics and gynecology (Medical, Nursing, Other Health Professionals) around the globe would have free and instant access to this type of training material over the internet.

Some things are learned more easily or better with video training aids. In the past, OBGYN training videos have been closely held, were often expensive and difficult to find. I wanted to find a way to overcome the accessibility and affordability issues. All of the videos on this site have been freely contributed or collected to promote the goal of unlimited free access to this useful information.

I think some of these videos are pretty good. Some are OK, and if I had the time, I'd like a re-do on some of them. Some are older, and some are fairly limited in scope. That said, I don't think this is a bad start, but I'd like to add more and better material. If you have video material that you think would be helpful to the students and that you would like to contribute, please contact me at doc@obgyned.com . Perhaps your material is better than what I've got, or more thorough, or more up to date. Perhaps it gives an alternative perspective or a different method of accomplishing the goal. It doesn't matter...if you're interested in contributing it, I'd be interested in looking at it and hopefully finding a place on the site for it.

Even if you don't have any videos to contribute, please share with me any thoughts or suggestions on how I can make this material better or more useful to you or your students.

In an ideal world, I'd prefer not to have any advertising, as I believe it distracts from the educational purposes of the site. But since this project is supported solely through the advertising revenues, the advertising is the engine that enables me to provide these videos free of charge to the students. So I've had to compromise.

In an ideal world, I'd prefer to have high-resolution videos online rather than the medium-resolution videos provided here. The problem is band-width. The same video that plays at medium-resolution and comes from a file that is 10 MB in size may require 300 MB to get it up to high-resolution. But 300 MB files will take too long to download for the average student, so I've had to compromise. I think the quality of resolution, in general, is good enough to convey the information, even though as an educator, I'd prefer the higher resolution.

Thanks for your interest.
